You will be met and greeted by your Rwagasabo Safaris driver-guide upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport. He or she will brief you on your safari before transferring you to your hotel for your overnight stay in Kigali and relax at your Hotel.

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive into the Nyungwe Forest. On the way you will visit Nyanza King’s Palace, the National Museum of Butare. Nyanza was the headquarters of the ancient Rwanda Kingdom before the arrival of the Europeans. The compound features the tastefully decorated modern palace built by King Mutura in 1934.

After breakfast, you will enter the Nyungwe forest to track Golden monkeys. A walk into the forest with our knowledgeable guides well versed in botany, ornithology, and interspecies relationships will be a whole new learning experience for you. You will return to your hotel for lunch and take the Canopy walk in the afternoon, overnight at the hotel.

Today will be your second day in the Nyungwe forest. In the morning you can either opt for Colobus Monkey tracking or a nature walk to the waterfalls. After lunch relax, overnight will be at the hotel.

Wake-up in Early morning, departure at 5:00 a.m for chimpanzees trekking. After trekking, you will head to Karongi via kivu belt way. Along the way you will enjoy the thousands of beautiful green hills that make up our country as well as views of Kivu Lake. Your overnight will be at the Betania Guest House.

Today you will transfer to Gisenyi by speed boat or by vehicle (the choice is yours). Along the way you will explore the wonderful views of the different islands along Lake Kivu and some of the Congolese hills. Your overnight will be at the Hotel Ubumwe.

You will spend part of the day relaxing and swimming at Kivu Serena Beach. After breakfast and your time at the beach you will drive to Musanze, the base town for visiting mountain gorillas. Enjoy a visit of the Ibyiwacu cultural village and then overnight at the Hotel Muhabura.

Early in the morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Volcanoes National Park for your first gorilla trek. You will arrive at the main office at 7:00am for a short briefing and coffee break before going on your trek. After Gorilla trekking, lunch time, relax and overnight will be at the hotel.

Today you will visit the golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park. You will again have to be at the main office at 7:00am for a short briefing before your trek. Return at lunchtime and then go visit the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Your overnight will be at the hotel.

In the morning, after breakfast, you will be transferred to Akagera via Kigali. Here you will have to visit Kigali Genocide Memorial center and lunch before driving into Akagera National Park. You will take a sunset boat cruise to Lake Ihema in the afternoon and the overnight will be at Akagera Game Lodge Hotel.

After breakfast you will go on a game drive in the park, Akagera National park is located in Eastern Rwanda on the border with Tanzania. African parks is currently managing this park and has done a great job with the conservation. In the past there were lots of conflict between people and the park but this was solved by fencing off part of the park and the introduction of community tours where visitors are encouraged to visit the communities and benefit accordingly. Akagera national park is a the only Savannah park in Rwanda and is home to several mammal species including Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Hippos, Kobs, Zebras, Bushbucks, Waterbucks and most recently Black Rhinos have been introduces from South Africa, making Akagera national park officially a big 5 park like it was many years ago. It is also home to numerous bird species in the several habitats which include woodland, swamps, lakes and Savannah.
Then return to Kigali

After breakfast, and depending on your departure flight, you may go on a complementary visit to the Ntarama Church. This was the site where more than 5,000 were killed during the 1994 Rwandan Genocide. This genocide memorial is located 30km south of Kigali in the Bugasera region. Upon arrival you will be introduced to our driver guide from the Airport to take you to Akagera game lodge in Akagera National park for an overnight and meals.

The sunset boat ride will start after lunch on Lake Ihema and a night game drive for animal viewing then dinner and sleepover at the lodge.

The morning game drive will start at 8: 00 am after breakfast later drive to Kigali city for dinner and sleepover at your Hotel (Serena/Park In or Mille Collines).

After breakfast, we will drive off to Nyanza king’s palace.The Nyanza Royal Palace existed in the 19th century under the leadership of King Yuhi V Musinga. In 1899, Nyanza was transformed into a royal state / center and lots of artistic, economic and intellectual activities were carried out from this place. At Rukari, you find the striking domed traditional construction of the Royal Palace. It presents historical facts of the ancient Kingdom.

Ethnographic Museum was built with help of the Belgian government. It first opened in 1989 and it is a good source of information on the cultural history of Rwanda and the region. Meals and accommodation in hotel In Nyungwe national park.

After breakfast, you will head for chimpanzee trekking and later in the day canopy walk. Meals and accommodation at the hotel.

After breakfast, you will head for a waterfall hike and later a drive to Musanze for Gorilla trekking on the next day . Meals and accommodation at the hotel.

After breakfast , you will head for a captivating mountain Gorilla trekking in the park . After the experience, Meals and accommodation at the hotel.

After breakfast , you will head for Golden trekking and later travel to Musanze for an entertaining moment about Rwanda’s culture experience from food to dances .In the evening we will return to Kigali.

Today, you will be picked from Kigali airport by a representative of Rwagasabo Safaris.
Depending on your arrival time you may be able to visit some of Kigali’s craft markets to look through the pottery, carvings, batik, weaving, sculpture, musical instruments, leather and fabrics on offer. All activities and purchases today are at your own cost.
The hotel you will be staying in is the world famous Hotel des Mille Collines from the movie Hotel Rwanda. This is a semi-luxury hotel.

Today morning after your breakfast, your guide will meet you at the hotel and will transfer you to Nyungwe Forest, one of the largest forests in East and Central Africa. The forest is abundant with flora and fauna including 13 primate species from colobus monkeys, mangabeys, blue monkeys and, of course, our cousins the chimpanzees. Nyungwe Forest is also a famous location for birders. With about 310 recorded bird species, 26 of which are endemic, this is one of the most important and still little known bird watching destinations in Africa.
You will have en route lunch
In the evening, you will settle into your private cottage at One and Only Nyungwe Resort (Former Nyungwe Forest Lodge). This luxury lodge is one of the best in Rwanda.

After a very early morning breakfast, you will proceed to the chimpanzee tracking trail in either the Cyamudongo or Uwinka sections. The total population between the two groups is 80 individuals. This is an experience you will never forget
After the chimp tracking you can relax at the hotel or choose an optional activity that you can discuss with your guide.

Optional activity
In the afternoon you can go for East Africa’s only canopy walk. This walk takes place above a deep gorge cutting across the massive forest. Lasting about 1½ hours, the walk takes you through some beautiful foliage and animal habitats. En route you will have the chance to spot blue monkeys and unique birds that dwell in the upper levels of the forest canopy.

In the morning you can enjoy the nice views from your lodge. After lunch you will travel to Kibuye on the eastern shores of Lake Kivu. If time allows, you can take a walk around Kibuye town. In the afternoon you can rent a boat and visit a few islands. All activities today are at your own cost.
Your accommodation for the night is the semi luxury Cormoran Lodge located on the shores of Lake Kivu.

Today after breakfast, you will be transferred to Musanze, close to the beautiful Volcano range
Your lodge is located near the entrance of the national park with an amazing view overlooking the Virunga Volcanoes. From here you will start your Gorilla tracking tomorrow.
You can upgrade to the luxury Virunga lodge which is one of the most beautiful lodges in the country. It has stunning beautiful views overlooking the Twin lakes and Volcanoes NP.

Today after breakfast, you will drive into the park about 30 minutes to Kinigi RDB office. The head ranger will divide you into groups based on interest and fitness. From here your guide will take you as close as possible to the starting point of your tracking. You will track one of the habituated Gorillas groups.The time taken to track the gorillas can take as little as half an hour to as much as 8 hours.
Your track will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes and bamboo before you eventually reach the gorillas’ current location. Your guide will point out signs of previous gorilla activity, including dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots. Once the gorillas have been located, you will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is a humbling and emotional experience.

Today after a relaxed breakfast you shall be transferred by your guide back to Kigali. Depending on your departure flight you can visit Kigali Genocide Memorial, which opened in 2004. It’s a dignified tribute to the victims, including a poignant Children’s Memorial, and a detailed description of the darkest hour in Rwanda’s recent history in time to catch your flight back home.
Your guide will take you to the airport in time for your flight home.

You will arrive at kanombe international airport in Kigali.After completion of immigration and customs formalities a representative of our agency (Guide/driver) will meet, greet and transfer you to your accommodation.

After breakfast you will do a brief city tour. The City tour of Kigali gives the outsider an opportunity to see Kigali Commercial, administrative, cultural and Residential areas. This includes the Kigali Genocide Museum that is at the heart of every Rwandan, the Nyamirambo , Kigali market is one that shows a typical local goods market, and the Franco-Rwandan cultural centre shows some of the collections from the colonial times.

Start for Nyungwe Forest National Park. Along the way, make stops at places of interest including local markets, the traditional palace of Rwanda’s Former King in Nyanza. In Butare, visit the Botanical Gardens and a cultural museum. Drive past green fields of tea scattered across the hillsides and the small wooden houses unique to the areas surrounding Nyungwe Forest

Nyungwe Forest National Park is the park in southern part of Rwanda. The park and the forest are famous for the canopy walk, the only one of its kind in East Africa as well as chimpanzee tracking in the nearby Cyamudongo Forest. Go for chimp tracking in Nyungwe Forest, the largest in Central Africa. Rest of the day at leisure.

Today, you will leave after breakfast and drive back to Kigali or pass via Gisenyi to Ruhengeri. Drive north to Kinigi via Ruhengeri. Enjoy the rolling hills for which Rwanda is well known.[Approximate driving time: 7 hours including refreshment times]

After breakfast, you will drive to the Park Headquarters for briefing by the guides before heading for gorilla tracking in the park. Tracking can be hard and challenging hence requires physical fitness of the participants. Parc National des Volcans is a forest with hilly sceneries, steep slopes and swamps can make tracking a hard and tiring experience. Tracking can take as long as up to 9 hours of a walk in the forest searching for the gorillas. However an hour of interaction with this closest relatives to human the rare endangered species is indeed a rewarding experience.

After breakfast, drive to the beautiful lake resort on the shores of the Lake Kivu. Lake Kivu is one of the greatest Lakes in Rwanda, and is in the Albertine (western) Rift valley, a part of the Great Rift Valleys. The lake is a 2650 Square kilometer freshwater expanse and the largest of all the lakes that fill the valleys of Rwanda. Spend the afternoon by the Lake shores. Overnight at the Hotel.

After breakfast, drive to Musanze (ex- Ruhengeri) the base town for mountain gorillas. Visit of Ibyiwacu Cultural Village, Vist Two Laks Ruhondo and Burera then after spend your evening at leisure Musanze City Tours talk to Local People. Overnight at the Hotel.

Pick up at your hotel driver to Kigali, have Kigali city trip including the visit of Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, contacts with local people for the discovery of artisanal products (Collar, Bracelet, etc…), then transfer towards Kigali airport.

In arrival at Kigali Airport, you will clear customs and collect your baggage. A representative will be waiting to welcome you and brief you on your safari. Outside the airport arrival section you will be transferred to your hotel.

Lunch in Kigali.
Depart on scenic drive North West wards through the beautiful terraced hillsides that display Rwanda’s landscape.
Arrive at Ruhengeri, the base for Gorilla trekking at the Volcanoes National Park.The town itself is located only 25km from Uganda boarder, is relatively a small city of about 70,000 people. The constant flow of humanity is quite remarkable. The Town has great views of the surrounding volcanoes.

After a morning breakfast you will go trekking the Golden Monkey in the Volcano National Park.
Trekking to see the golden monkeys is another highlight of Volcanoes National Park. The Golden Monkey (Cercopithecus Mitis Kandti) is a local subspecies of the widespread Sykes Monkey, also known as the “Blue Monkey” and is endemic to the high altitude forests of the Volcanoes National Park area. The monkeys are playful and inquisitive and often spend their time leaping from bamboo branches or frolicking on the forest floor.
There are two habituated groups of Golden Monkey, one group comprises around 80 – 100 members and has its home at the foot of Mt Sabyinyo. As with treks to see the Mountain Gorillas, treks to see the Golden Monkeys take place in the mornings and visitors are permitted to stay for 1 hour with the monkeys.
After the Golden monkey trekking, go back to your lodge for lunch.

Transfer to the Volcanoes National Park HQs for the first gorilla trek.
Briefing by your trackers then drive to the trail head for the start of your amazing Gorilla Tracking adventure.
Your trek again starts in the cultivated foothills of the Virunga’s offering stirring views in all directions. Upon sighting the gorillas, you will stay with them for a magical hour as they go about their daily life, feeding, playing, resting; raising their young.

Porters may be hired for the trek to carry your backpack and gear.
The cost is ten USD per person/per day. We advise that you utilize this service.

After the trek, rejoin your driver Guide for a transfer to your lodge for lunch.

Afternoon visit the twin Lakes Ruhondo and Bulera.
